I am alone in the night

Just myself and my thoughts

Wrestling, struggling, analyzing

Weakened, I search for an ending

And again, it eludes me

Worries flood my consciousness

What if...?

The turmoil within fuels my anxiety

And I feel lost

Where is my place?

This uncertainty makes me afraid

And I feel the tears begin to well up inside

But then...I remember that I have a place to lay my burdens down

A place of rest and peace

Where I can find refuge in a friend like no other

His name is Jesus
