Just what is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ? After His resurrection, Jesus gave His disciples the Great Commission of taking and proclaiming a message to the ends of the earth - what is that message? Is it necessary to receive and believe that message in order to be saved from the penalty of sin? Why do people need saved from sin? Jesus spoke of a future coming Kingdom, is that the central message of the Gospel, or is it more about the person Jesus? Is the Gospel merely a message to be believed or must it be obeyed? Is it a message of faith alone without works, or are good works a requirement for salvation? The Apostle Paul warned the Galatian Church that in accepting a perverted Gospel they were falling from the grace of God. We can be certain of one critical fact - the real truth of what the Gospel message is cannot be overstated. Bible Translation: NASV

7. Is the true Gospel Message one of salvation by Grace through Faith?” Ephesians 2:8-10 / Romans 6:17 / Romans 6:1-2 / Romans 7:12-25 Answer__________

Commentary: This “form of teaching” is the “works prepared beforehand” for Christians to “walk in.” It is God’s holy standard for Christian conduct. Paul told the Hebrews (Chapters 6 & 10) that if a person comes to the knowledge of the truth, receives the holy spirit, and then continues to practice sin as a way of life, they will perish. God will never leave nor forsake one of His children, but one of them can leave and forsake Him by refusing to follow Him according to His Ways. The Bible makes it clear that you can only be saved by God’s grace by putting your faith in the sacrifice of Jesus, and not in your own righteous deeds. The Scriptures declare that all have sinned and are guilty before a holy God. No amount of Commandment keeping can save you because Commandment keeping cannot atone for sin, nor remove the penalty of committing sin. So it is clear that all people are in need of a Savior, because they cannot save themselves from the judgment of Hell. A person who has not received salvation is literally on death row, awaiting their execution. For example, if a man commits murder he is guilty. Even if he had never broken the law before or after that transgression, he would still be guilty of that crime. All the good that he had done before or after could not make that murder go away. By law he would still be guilty and be under the law. His only hope would be to receive an undeserved pardon from someone who had the authority to issue mercy. An authority would grant a pardon only if they were assured that the convicted deeply regretted committing the crime and was fully committed to live according to the standard of the law.

FINAL COMMENTS
The Gospel of Christ must be received by faith. You must believe that God the Father sent His only Son to live and die for those lost in their sins. He did this because of His great love. It is not His desire that anyone should perish, but that all sinners would turn from their sins and be saved. Although, God has given us the Ten Commandments and His written Word to live by, we must never fail to acknowledge the fact that we cannot save ourselves. The Bible says that we will be rewarded according to our good works, but that our good works cannot produce salvation. Obedience alone cannot save us. Charity alone cannot save us. Any righteousness that we can muster is as filthy rags to God. We must receive the righteousness of Christ and live in that Grace by Faith. We must come to Him with the full acknowledgment that we are sinners who are unworthy of His forgiveness. Then we must receive by faith that Jesus paid the penalty of our sins, past, present and future. When we turn from our sins and turn to Jesus, we call Him “Lord.” As the new Lord of our life we must now lay down our will and submit to His will. We understand that we are now saved, are being saved, and shall be saved. This means that salvation is a process by which we must maintain what has been entrusted to us. Paul said, “Work out your own salvation with trembling and fear.” He was not teaching that you can produce your own salvation, but was saying that you have some work to do to maintain that salvation. Paul said that he “buffeted his body” to bring it under submission to the will of God. He told young Timothy that he had “fought the fight” and had “finished the race.” Salvation must be maintained by abiding in Christ and His Way of life.
The SECOND STEP to receive the Gospel is to confess and repent of your sins.
The THIRD STEP is to ask God to forgive you.
The FOURTH STEP is to receive by faith that Jesus paid the penalty to forgive your sins.
The FIFTH STEP is to be baptized in the name of Jesus. (not excluding the Father and the holy spirit)
The SIXTH STEP is to have hands laid upon you to receive the holy spirit. To understand, and receive by faith that you are now in God’s grace and are freed from sins, past present and future, as long as you walk obediently before the Lord. Jesus, as your High Priest is ever at the Mercy Seat with His own righteous Blood interceding for you. Sin is no longer imputed to you unless you sin willfully on purpose. You are now justified in God’s sight, as if you had never committed a sin.
