A The Bible teaches that the dead rest in the grave and await a Resurrection. (Job 14;14) (Ecclesiastes 9:5) (Acts 2:29-34) Jesus said in John 5:28,- "Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth." The order of the Resurrections are outlined in 1 Corinthians 15:20-58) The Apostle Paul told the Thessalonians,- "And the dead in Christ (true Christians) will rise first." (1 Thessalonians 4:16) Revelation 20:4 reveals that those who will be killed for refusing to worship the end-time Beast will come to life and reign with Christ for a thousand years. Verse 5 says,- "The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed." This is the first Resurrection (referring to Verse 4). Verse 6 says,- "Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the FIRST RESURRECTION." Jesus said,- "No man has ascended t o heaven, but He (Jesus) who descended from heaven." (John 3:13) Those who sleep in the graves await the
Resurrection from the dead. The FIRST Resurrection at the return of
Christ. This is a Resurrection of the righteous who will be resurrected as
glorified spirit beings. The SECOND Resurrection which takes place at the
end of the millennial reign of Jesus and His Saints. This is the
Resurrection of all who have never been given the opportunity to truly
know God. These will be resurrected with fleshly, mortal bodies. There may
be a THIRD Resurrection, but the Bible does not plainly say. There are
those who have been called by God and have turned away from Him. These are
awaiting a Resurrection to Damnation in the Lake of Fire. The question is,
when will these be resurrected? They certainly will not have a part in the
FIRST Resurrection, so they will be resurrected along with those whom God
has never called, or have their own Resurrection, which would be the
Resurrection of the Damned. If so, this would be the THIRD Resurrection. For
